It is only a matter of time and indeed I think that it is past time for Boise State to get a chance to play against good opponents. That would be a fair test and an interesting game.
The whole idea that we “need” a National Champion in college football is the problem. There are far too many schools, and not nearly enough games in a season, to justify a “Championship” decree.
Win your conference. Get invited to a prestigious Bowl. If you win that, you can argue that you were the “best” for the rest of your life, and nobody can prove otherwise. It’s not like the BCS has eliminated the arguments anyway…
Oh, we get the same complaints from B.Y.U. fans… never get enough respect when they’re hot, never invited to one of the big money bowls… you know, yada yada yada…
