That was my Mozart, couldn’t figure out where the pretty lights were coming from but he was going to catch them as they sparkled across the floor. I eventually had to take it down from the window because all the others came to investigate what Mozart was doing and a squabble would inevitably break out
Puck sees the beauty of the rainbows – he would only chase them to study their intricacies. Meanwhile, Lupin is enjoying the the extra beauty as the rainbows pass over his gorgeous white fur.
Hate to be the bummer but… hubby was a firefighter for 20 yrs. When you hang those, be sure they are not going to concentrate any light for long on flammable materials. Ever do the magnifying glass thing? Yeah, stuff can catch fire. Kitchen is pretty safe.
Good thing these take place in the Big Pink House, not here in the cloudy and grey Pacific NorthWet. Suncatchers just don’t have that many chances to catch a sunbeam.
Not long after we adopted Big Cat, he started scampering around the kitchen pouncing on some unknown thing one night as we were eating dinner. It took a few seconds to realize that he was trying to catch the reflections from our cutlery.
There’s a 30" long crouching cat figurine covered in little mirrors like a disco ball on my table. At sunset the room fills with tiny rainbows and the cats love to hunt them.
“Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away. Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a ra-aa-iny day.” Good advice back when Perry was singing about it. BETTER advice today. If not falling stars, rainbows. Go get ’em, Elvis!
Hi all,Allie is doing a little better after finishing her course of antibiotics. She is starting to eat a little more. Thanks from both of us for your concern and prayers. Have a wonderful day.
The BCN boys chasing rainbows is all well and good but my parents 175lb Great Dane chases spots of light that comes in through the garden window during certain times of the day. Try dealing with 175lbs of fired up whirling dervish of muscle of playfulness that doesn’t understand it can’t be caught. He even knows what time the light will show up just like the boys do.

Rainbows are rarer than the red dot but usually easier to catch. Good luck, Elvis.

You can do it Elvis! Catch the rainbow! Maybe there’ll be Skittles at the end of it. :P I think it’s a great idea to hang prisms in the window.

I would have thought it would be spazzy, zany Lupin or Mighty Hunter Puck who’d be interested in catching rainbows, not skeptical, no-nonsense Elvis.

Puck’s as dedicated to catching rainbows as Pucky is to seeing a mailman!

I hope those canisters on the counter survive Elvis’s attempts at rainbow catching.

The full effect of rainbows is lost on critters who see in black and white.

Elvis, when hunting rainbows it’s very important to watch out for the leprechauns that guard them!

Now I’m going to have Kermit the Frog’s voice stuck in my head all day! “Someday he’ll find it/the rainbow connection…”

Mine like it when they’re out on THEIR screen porch and the fireflies/lightning bugs come out to play. They are mesmerized by the light display
