While Carmen and Winslow argue, guess what Putin and the Neo-Soviets will be doing? https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-russia-ambassador-us-russia-relations-done-if-kremlin-meddles-in-2018-elections?ref=author

Newt Gingrich started it and while “both” sides do negative ads, only one practices practices outright thievery (Gorsuch), voter suppression (Florida-Pennsylvania) and total lying (FOX News).

The pathetic trump’s mental illness is contagious. The divisiveness we see now reflects the infection now afflicting America. On one side, American aspirational ideals. Rule of law, honesty, integrity, cooperation, debate, negotiation, civility, and the like. On the other side, those goaded by fear of the “other” (Muslims, blacks, Latinos, immigrants, and Democrats) are the “conservatives” who want to conserve racism, gerrymandering, pollution, climate change, plutocracy, fundamentalist “Christianity” war spending, aggressive policing, and the like.

Hmmmm….Some of us think American aspirational values are exceptional and to be admired. Others, not so much. Of course, since the regressives (masquerading as “conservatives”) don’t care to discuss and debate openly, their contempt for America is hidden from view. Their contempt has a word expressly for them. That word is “unpatriotic.”

I notice that, while they’re happy to attack us, usually without even an attempt at evidence, not a one has anything good to say about trump or his Congress.

“An even more basic norm under threat today is the idea of legitimate opposition. In a democracy, partisan rivals must fully accept one another’s right to exist, to compete and to govern. Democrats and Republicans may disagree intensely, but they must view one another as loyal Americans and accept that the other side will occasionally win elections and lead the country. Without such mutual acceptance, democracy is imperiled… "

It is hurting the R. Party as a whole. Those not as extreme, not as “pure” to the radicals are stepping down. Which means more seats will be up for election than when Pres. Clinton was in power in 1997. And since the pattern is, incumbents win 95% of the time in any election, could this be the blow back from the All Republican actions? Will will wait to see how it works out.
