Just yesterday I was discussing with someone why I chose to be a vegetarian. One of my replies is that I don’t want an animal to die so I can eat. Now, thanks to Mr. Bolling, I can eat smart animals without guilt…. For the record, I eat fish and shrimp, but only the really smart ones.

When all the ribbons and bows and pretty paper are removed, only the practical present realities remain.

I’m totally on board with this. I’ve never eaten an economist in my life.

A guy named Tom has a business here delivering meat to restaurants. His delivery trucks feature signs with his motto, “You Can’t Beat Tom’s Meat”.

In “The Restaurant at the End of the Universe” (one of the books in “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” series), they had a cow that had been bred to want to be eaten, and that was fully capable of articulating that idea. After explaining that to the assembled diners, it went off to the kitchen and shot itself, returning in the form of four perfectly cooked steaks.
