Ignatz…. I do not think Jef draws any of the characters to be a “bad guy”. I think all the characters are meant to be good in their own ways. This even includes Caulfield, who I personally sometimes think is drawn as excessively mean spirited. My favorite character in the comic is Principal Spaetzel, then followed by Mrs. Olsen.
I have to agree with some of the preceding commentary that this does look like something my Nuclear coffee could do to someone, especially if it is their first time drinking it
I am afraid to think what the Super-power-of-the-day might be in this case, but I wouldn’t want to be around her when she figures it out
Seems he isn’t talking about the coffee raising her bun but using a form of garage door opener to lift her bun on command so it appears to be the coffee. Or am I just being too literal again?
Eric Burdon and The Animals missed an opportunity, making their debut album cover less than suitably shaped and designed for a cartoon janitor’s T-shirt. Because I sure tried to find a way to do something with “The House of the Rising Bun.” Or Hemingway, with “The Bun Also Rises,” maybe. The Beatles, “Here Comes the Bun,” even. The bun fun never ends.

Is Mrs. Olsen supposed to be the strip’s “bad guy”? Because as the days go by, I’m getting more and more on her side.
