    Instrument flight rating.

When did they let blind pilots fly?

    I. F. R. = Instrumental flight rules. In other words, using only the aircraft instrument panel for navigation (according to Wikipedia.)

As far as the turtle is concerned, IFR stands for Individual Foot Rest.

Good Morning Lonewolf, Tanya, Montana Lady, Gweedo and All

I think the turtle should get his Chauffeur’s License.

Good morning, BCers! Actually pamlicorat, I was thinking that the turtle should be an assistance/guide animal.

When learning how to fly by instruments only (as opposed to VFR - Visual Flight Rules), the student pilot wears a visor that blocks their view of the window so they have to depend on the instruments.

Of course, in the old days, IFR stood for “I Follow Roads.”
