Calvin, you will have to sign an NDA before Hobbes will tell you anything.
“For one thing, we can stalk prey for months before luring them into the woods on some pretense and eating them.”
Hobbes is correct: a secret is no longer a secret if shared with someone.
Why all the secrecy?
-Hobbes when the GROSS club was first made
Hobbes enjoys torturing the boy.
It’s no secret that Calvin WILL tell whatever Hobbes tells him.
Calvin, just tell Hobbes that little boys have big, BIG secrets too. Then you can refuse to tell Hobbes your secrets. Tell him your secrets are bigger and more secret than his secrets are.
They are not only secretive, they are chatty, too, sometimes too chatty!!
Hobbes is just so perfectly playing up being an ass, here. It’s awesome :).
With imaginary friends like this, Calvin doesn’t need any imaginary enemies!
Little known fact: Hobbes was a co-originator of the 1952-1967 TV Show “I’ve Got a Secret.”
Just like the secret where tigers run up the nearest tree whenever a rhino charges.
If Calvin had kept reading, he would have found out that tigers like to tease their hunting buddies.
I love when Hobbes tortures Calvin with his own lack of self control.
The secret: Calvin’s [#######] [###] [##] [#] [####] [######].
Hmm, face paint in the woods. Calvin’s got the Lord of the Flies look. Littlun.
“Some of them are about Su-sie.”
“Never mind! Go away! La la la la…”
Learning the hard way, the way children don’t like.
How can Calvin ever expect to be a tiger if he can’t learn tiger secrets?
“Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.” Benjamin Franklin in Poor Richard’s Almanac.
How to keep a sucker in suspense.
I always found this strip strange. What encyclopedia would describe any nonhuman animal as “secretive”?
OMG Hobbes is sounding like Trump
