There’s nothing like getting a few days with your family to make you appreciate work.

Apparently Mildred’s idea was for her to go shopping. That way, Larry does the house cleaning AND spends less time with the family.

Is that her knitting bag, her purse or the garbage bag? ( Or all three in one? )

Now, he’s at his lectern, obviously making a speech; but who to? And given that he has a lectern in the house, one can only surmise that he intended to ditch the idea of retirement from the beginning.

Okay, the dog is starting to creep everyone out.

All right, but what’s with the pulpit?

This SO seriously hits SO close to home.

Like the old saying goes:Retirement=twice as much husband, half as much money…

Good idea, Larry. Could you bring some more money when you come home?

Maybe he should take up fishing. My Dad did a lot of fishing when he retired.

Never the hero at home.

Every time I hear a guy leaving office to spend more time with my family, I feel bad for what is about to happen to their lives. Got their routines all set around his being away and now he wants in, with no clue about the way things work.

Also when someone claims to be leaving office to pursue other interests I wonder if it is because the individual has simply winkled out a new fiddle for getting money from unsuspecting parties.

Wiley, thanks for drawing the dog again…I’ve always loved him. And I understand how the smile could freak people out…..When you round the bend, would you rather confront a Wiley Bear or Rolf? I’m going with the Wiley Bear….At least I know what they gonna do…..

Larry’s got some weird pets.

That type of announcement from pols is usually spoken into an array of mics held by a gaggle of surrounding reporters. That podium befits press secretaries. Maybe Larry could have retained a now-free Spicer for that occasion.

I absolutely cannot wait to retire! About 4more years.

Those that do more physical work always look forward to retirement more than those that sit on their arses and take 4 hour martini lunches.Being the former, I am looking forward to retiring in somewhere between 8 and 13 years.

BTW, I always laugh when a movie star or rock star says they’ll never retire. Yeah, if I could make millions on a movie, record, etc. take 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 year vacations in between, I’d probably never officially retire either.

I find it interesting that many of the guys here don’t recognize someone doing laundry. Maybe Larry needs to start helping around the house. :P

I have always done my own laundry and dishes. Living alone, one has to.

Hey that’s the dog from B.E. — Before Eve — he always looks like that. No big deal. He’s just naturally happy dog.As for the item Larry is standing behind, that’s a lectern, not a pulpit — no raised platform so it can’t be a pulpit.

That dog has some set of razors for teeth.
