One of my all time favorites! Elivs’ annoyance is just too perfect. And Lupin’s joy at his deception is so sweet. For the man to play along is just the icing on the cake.
I’m hiding, I’m hiding / And no-one knows where, / For all they can see / Is my toes and my hair. — Dorothy Keeley Aldis. Great kid’s poem, similar situation.
Love the little pile of clothes at the side of the sink in the last panel :) And Elvis is so miffed at the Man for playing along with Lupin’s act
My previous cat Mozart used to think he was invisible too, had to keep telling him 18lb ginger and white lumps under the rugs were not invisible :) My favourite was when he would hunker down against the stair riser and act like no one could see him – he took up almost the entire tread
Elvis is keeping his tail out of Lupin’s reach. But in our household, She-Who-Holds-Time,-Space,-and-Eternity-Subject-to-Her-Whim can make herself invisible without being white.
And following on from yesterday’s discussion of parenting, I will pass on to new fathers a tip my late brother gave me.You need to provide voices for the toy animals. You need voices for the characters in the bedtime stories. Some of those voices – screechy witches and growly Father Bear – can be pretty rough on the throat. So I’m drinking this whisky, dear, just to keep my voice in good order for tonight’s story.
Oh! This is one of my most favourite ones! Lupin has the power to become invisible when in the sink! I adore how the Man plays along with his little sing-song: “Have you seen Looooopin?” I doubt Devil’s Advo"cat" Elvis will appreciate being swatted at! lol! My parents’ cat Tinkerbelle does the same thing as Lupin—she loves to become invisible in the sink!
Good morning and happy Bunday (Funday?) to all orbsters and their orbabies. I love this strip, the man’s smile as he decides to play along with Lupin’s invisibility ploy, Puck’s poofy tail as he is astonished that the man cannot see Lupin, and Elvis so indignant in the last panel as Lupin tries to swat him! Oh my cat, such fun!
I’ve seen “thinks he’s invisible” in some of the neighborhood ferals. The black ones think no one can see them lurking in the oleanders near the mailboxes at night. They don’t realize that their eyes are shooting out ten-thousand watt laser beams.
Off subject, but just sending positive thoughts and good wishes to those of you in the storms of NE USA (and anywhere else that is affected). Please stay safe and warm.
Imagine for a moment… Lupin is having a wonderful time, and cats purr when they are happy… the acoustics in a bathroom are usually very good… the whole bathroom would sound like there is a motorcycle is in there… RRRRRRumble… RRRRRumble…..
Oddly enough, my white cat Angel avoids the places where she’d be invisible. She’s proud of the way she stands out, especially the way she glows in the dark.
There is a proposal to amend the laws regarding wild animals! It will require that ALL wild animals considered to be nuisances (such as a family of raccoons under a porch) to be destroyed after capture! That means if you must call an pest control agency, they will be forced to kill any wild animals caught. Deer, squirrels, ducks, whatever! Even if they’re healthy! They will no longer allow healthy animals to be taken to wild areas.
If you want to voice your concerns, please go online to www.in.gov/2377.htm
Look for wildlife amendments (312 IAC 9) to get more info. Deadline is midnight, March 23.
Please let your voices be heard on this critical issue! Thank you!
For those of us with cats, we know that no matter the size or color of our masters. If they want to be invisible they can be standing in the middle of an empty room meowing at the top of their lungs and they ARE INVISIBLE if they will it so. They are CAT master of the universe owner of everything bow down to their will.
bentley, my black kitty, used to get behind the curtains to look out the window and sun himself. he considered himself hidden / invisible.. which he would have been except for his long, black tail sticking out from underneath the curtains.
I love this strip because the man’s playing along with Lupin reminds me my dad. When I was a kid, I used to sneak behind my dad when he was shaving and hide in the clothes hamper. He would pretend to be concerned that I was missing and go all through the house calling for me. Eventually he would open the hamper lid and be “surprised” to find me there. Then he would lift me out and give me a big hug. It made me feel really safe because I knew if I ever truly got lost, he would never stop looking until he found me.
I had an all black kitten that would climb into a white bath tub, scrunch down and close his eyes, and he truly thought he could not be seen. He used to do that in the back of the dark closet and it would work do him there, so I guess he figured why not try elsewhere.
Poor Horatio is so upset tonight. His favorite aunt, my best friend, stopped by on her way back to North Carolina and he slept through her visit. As soon as he woke up and came into the living room, he noticed her smell on the chair and started calling for her. He’s still calling and looking under furniture and inside cabinets for her over two hours after she left! (McDuff is just trying to figure out where my nephew’s snake went. He knows it was here…)
Sick today, so I’m not reading all the comments. Yet. Just wanted to say I love how the Man is playing along with Lupin, just like my parents did at times when my brother and we’re growing up.
whenever the new-style repeats come out, I can never decide which version I prefer. this one is clearly more adorable in the new style. (sorry old style)
