Reminds me of a couple I know. When they got married and bought a small house, with just enough room for all their stuff, they made a rule that whenever anything new was added to their stuff, something else would have to be gotten rid of.
She: “What I didn’t realize when we made the agreement was that whenever something new came in, something of mine would have to go… because I was the only one who was adding new stuff.”
When we married, my wife was living in an 850 sf apartment stuffed full. We now have a 2700 sf house. Most of my stuff is in the garage or the shed (except my books) and she has filled the house. Ihave one closet and a two-drawer filing cabinet for clothes, she has three closets and one of the bedrooms for hers.
