I can imagine being hooked on crosswords, but I can no more fathom being hooked on a puzzle with just numbers than being hooked on having ants crawling all over me. (A math puzzle with word/story problems, that I could see.)
My Monday paper disappeared due to high winds that morning… found the number in the phone book.
The phone book may be shrinking with each successive year but it’s still handy to have around. And, as has already been mentioned, the “about us” page on their website would have worked as well. But, for me, the phone book was closer and, thus, faster for the look up. Ain’t nothing wrong with old school methods.
If your carrier was any good, you’d have their number to contact directly. I’ve been delivering newspapers for about 10 years and I make sure all my customers have my number. Otherwise I get charged for any complaints the company receives.

Hasn’t she heard of looking up the number online or in the phone book?
