The saying, “the most obvious choice” doesn’t always means that person is going to win. I know it’s just a comic and Marcy might get it, but in reality, the most obvious choice doesn’t win.
He shouldn’t get her hopes up. She may be the most qualified, but politics always plays into these choices, and the one who wins will be the one who plays tennis (or goes out drinking) with the decision maker. The ol’ “It’s not WHAT you know, but WHO you know”. Anyway, I hope Marcy DOES get the promotion…assuming she wants it!
