So PP loves CB, Sally loves Linus, Lucy loves Schroeder, Linus love Miss Othmar, and CB loves the little red-haired girl.

No one in this strip has requited love. :-(

Peppermint Patty is just completely clueless to anything that she doesn’t believe or think. Per her Wiki entry: “Peppermint Patty is noted for her persistent habit of profoundly misunderstanding basic concepts and ideas that most people would consider obvious, then blindly ignoring any counsel against her latest fixation, which leads to ultimately embarrassing situations for which she blames everyone who warned her.” She thought “Chuck” had a thing for her when he didn’t. She didn’t recognize that Snoopy was a dog for the longest time. She bullied Marcie into making her a skating dress at one point, ignoring the fact that Marcie kept telling her she couldn’t sew. My husband considers “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown” a video that should be shown to managers in every company about how NOT to manage because Peppermint Patty couldn’t give Marcie clear instructions on how to cook eggs to dye them for Easter and Marcie ruined batch after batch. It may not be what Schulz intended, but she’s quite the metaphor for a lot of Americans today – “:I believe this, I refuse to listen to anything else, don’t confuse me with your facts.”

sigh. How many times I’ve had to wake my husband up – I mean REALLY SHAKE him — to assure him that everything is really OK with us.

Let’s see now. She blamed Chuck for losing the homecoming game when Lucy pulled the ball away for the umpteenth time. She also blamed Chuck for the behavior of the un-named boy at summer camp who just kept saying, “Shut up and leave me alone.”
