My dear wife once made scalloped potatoes, and the recipe called for a teaspoon on black pepper. She put in a cup. She was quite upset when I could not finish my heaping helping. She, of course, did not try them.
Don Martin, Mad’s Maddest Artist (not to be confused with Donald Trump, America’s Maddest President) once did a bunch of comic book and comic strip characters doing odd sound effects. For Andy Capp, he was choking and gasping—the punchline being, “Andy Capp, accidentally drinking water.”
For someone not used to spices like ginger, horse radish, scotch bonnets or white habenero chili peppers or even cayenne pepper, the difference between a teaspoon and a tablespoon is explosive !
In a cartoon I would laugh at this but in real life I wouldn’t. I can imagine it’s painful and uncomfortable. I love hot and spicy food though. It’s simply the best. It must be the Asian in me.
Won £5 at bingo today. It was originally £10 to be won but somebody else HAD to win the same time as me and the money was divided between us. Haha. I’ve decided not to go twice a week, I’m just going on Friday afternoons because I’m scared I’ll become addicted.

But look on the bright side. Andy’s sinuses should be clear by now. Shouldn’t they?

No water, you fool! It only worsens the burn. Yogurt is good.

“Yuck, what IS this?”
“I got it out of the cook book.”
“Good, it had no right to be in there in the FIRST place!”

Nothing to do with today’s strip, but saw a couple robins outside while walking a few days ago. Hopefully, a sign that Spring is on the way.
