There will be more fun stuff to do in college than watching tv.

When I was a kid, Saturday was the only day I was truly free. Sunday, I had church.

Wow Calvin. What a busy life you have!

For me, Saturday was “OK, now have you done your homework?… good. Time for this list of chores.”

“I’ll never get this done in one weekend!”

“Yeah, you’ve still got the backup from LAST weekend, so you better get going!”

I just made a hash of the chores, was never asked again….

You’re lucky to be a 20th Century kid, Calvin. A hundred years before they might have sent you up a chimney at your age. Or down a mine. Or into a factory.

It’s not bad yet, Calvin. Just wait until they start giving you the most insidious thing ever: homework!

Calvin, work HARD and retire EARLY. Then you get to be a kid again. Best time of life. And I’m finally THERE.

You have to stop being a kid? Where does it say that?

Calvin; College; That’s a joke. High School would be a miracle.

Calvin, at least you had great cartoons back then.

“What about exploring, discovering, and playing?” That’s what college is all about, Calvin. You’ll be fine.

Saturdays, i couldn’t watch cartoons or go outside ’til i cleaned my bedroom & bathroom.. Took me a few years to figure out to do all of that Friday evening..!

You have to get older, or die, but you can remain immature forever.

TV is important, too!

Study hard, especially math and science.

Then become a mad scientist, and you can explore and discover and play all day long, and they will pay you $$$ to do it!

If Calvin could look ahead to the very last strip, he would be reassured that he and Hobbes are still out there, exploring
