Of course; Tracy’s gotta be there when Ghost slips and falls into the tank and is killed by giant jellyfish venom, so that Wendy Wichel can blame Tracy for the death… even if he doesn’t pull his gun.
Not sure that Ghost has fallen into the tank yet – Sam’s info re/ the aquariumtalks about an intruder, not about the spectacular demise by jellyfish of the alleged intruder – is it possible that Ghost will live to exact revenge on on his not so ever faithful sous chef, Pierre???
With just two days left until April 1, if they actually do get Tracy back to the aquarium in time to either arrest Ghost or witness his demise, it will be a most pleasant (to me, anyway) surprise. For all the carping (oops, no pun intended) about “the story is too long, the story is too short, details don’t match up”,etc., etc., this has been, in many ways, the most Gouldian story team Tracy has done since they started. It has been a little rushed, but it has many of the elements that make a classic Dick Tracy continuity, in the story itself and in the art. I hope team Tracy continues to go in this direction, “getting better all the time”. ♪ ♫
Please tell me that this whole story hasn’t been leading up to that joke. Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that at least the 2nd half has been though?
Great artwork in the double-panel 1, and good in panel 2 also!
My bet is that Ghost does not survive (and is stung to a painful, ironic death by Manuel). But alive, wounded, and captured, or dead, the story is just about over. I guess we will never know his back-story or fully understand his motives. but as long as Justice Is Served (rather than more fugu!), I’ll be content….
Agree with Ken in Ohio, but another escape would be even more Gouldian. another escape would be even better, good characters shouldn’t be given short shrift. More Ghost and Phishface are in order. But, we do hope this is a trend, not just recycling 40s long dead characters.
It’s one of those pre-knotted neckties on a loop of elastic. They are a fashion disaster but all LEO’s wear them so they can’t be choked with their own necktie while wrassling with a suspect.

Good morning™, intruder detectors at the aquarium!
Little does Pierre know that Ghost is “swimming with the fishes” metaphorically, as well as literally.

I went to bed early, but Gweedo wanted to add to last night’s discussion:
Dr. Neil has the cure !
“but by the time I saw the doctor, it had resolved itself.”
My favorite kind of medicine !
Forgot to add earlier… Night-Gaunt wishes to convey his heartfelt thank you to Neil Wick for getting this message out !

Sadly, Pierre will get an extra 30 years for that quip… Tracy hates word play!

Am I the only one who wondered how Tracy managed to tie his necktie one-handed? Pretty good trick.
