Until the Veterans Administration is fixed and all of our veterans have the care they deserve, we shouldn’t be wasting money on parades.

Music, costumes, toys, choreography and a big budget. That’s show biz.

The traditional reason given for military parades was to honor the victors in a conflict.

You would have to have a group of men trained and dedicated just to parading and use deactivated and obsolete weapons dressed up to look good to the masses. Then we could be like Russia, China and North Korea.

At least part of the reason is to threaten foreigners. “Look at what we can throw at you if you make us angry, for instance by not letting us take whatever we want from you!” It’s not a morally GOOD reason, but it’s logical.

Hummm…deflection from reality, perhaps??

ILM or WETA could do a great parade in 3D and he’d never know the difference if FOX covered it.

Military parades serve one purpose and one purpose only: to intimidate. The question is “who are they trying to intimidate” and the answer usually is “the people who disagree with him.”

Trumpler is a dictator, make no mistake about it. He is a classic narcissist with all the fascist tendencies and desires to rule alone (“I alone can fix it”) and he knows he has the followers to take him there (“I could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose any support”)

cozmik cowboy: first off anyone who is convicted will be pardoned. what makes you think that after impeachment there won’t be a pardon?

We are fast returning to the Viet Nam era, where veterans are no longer honored for their service and have to duck and hide from the left leaning general public…try to remember folks, the men and women who served, fought, bled and died under our colors, to protect and defend the Constitution from all foes both foreign and domestic, did so so you have the right to gripe, groan and complain. Don’t want a parade? See a service person in uniform, shake their hand, thank them, buy their lunch, support the USO, visit VA hospitals and veterans homes. These are your true heroes, whatever you think of the administrations that come and go, your heroes service should be honored.

There are many reasons why countries have military parades. But I’ve always wondered if the real reason is a deep seated inferiority complex.

Next up: Democrats thrown to the lions in the colosseums.

The day after mankind grows up and no longer feels the needs to make war and all the ways that we find to kill each other are no longer necessary….That is the day when there should be a military parade.

There oughta be a law: draft dodgers can’t have military parades! Also, they shouldn’t be allowed to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, because all those big balloons are liable to SCARE them!

Though he hasn’t done anything to earn the honor, quite the opposite, Arlington is a good place to give Trump a “military parade” with Taps.

What if they gave a parade, and nobody came? Maybe went to a huge demonstration somewhere else?

A military parade has always been the best and most time honored way for a leader to compensate for the size of his weapon.

Remember when Nixon had “Palace Guards” dressed like toy soldiers? Whatever became of him?
