Wendy seems to be getting a more glamorous treatment than sometimes. And she seems very happy to meet Reid. Is she hunting a career move, or something more personal there?(And what does she use for mascara, carbon-fibre reinforcement???)
Another challenge for the Green Hornet, his aide Kato, and their rolling arsenal, the Black Beauty. On police records a wanted criminal, the Green Hornet is really Britt Reid, owner-publisher of the Daily Sentinel; his dual identity known only to his secretary, and to the district attorney. And now, to protect the rights and lives of decent citizens, rides The Green Hornet!(cue Al Hirt)
So are we back in Los Angeles (Brett Reid’s / Green Hornet’s stomping grounds)? Or is the Hornet in Tracytown on vacation? Will there be more DC comics crossovers in this arc? Tune in next time …
For anyone who may have missed it, Vista Bill ‘s daughter put up a very nice comment sometime late yesterday. Click back to yesterday’s strip, and scroll down; it’s not too far from the top.
It seems odd that the newspaper would use a comic strip style logo with their serious news article about the Green Hornet. It would feel more authentic to see a photograph of some sort.
Schrecker and Britt are both refreshingly well-dressed gents, in a ‘60s style (narrow lapels; Britt’s narrow tie). And Lenore, with her single strand of pearls; even Wendy, looking much more glamorous than ever before! It could be a fashion shoot as much as a crime-busting session about that nasty Green Hornet….
I was in Annapolis a couple of years back and had wrote Bill with a proposal to meet up. He declined as he did not feel like being public. Bill’s capable use of photoshopping, humor and warmth was much appreciated. As I am “invisible” it is not possible for direct posting due to a grave misunderstanding by those who moderate the talk.

I know a couple in the Annapolis area that when I next go to see them would enjoy meeting you, daughter of an illustrious and well loved good ol’ boy who made being here more than just reading the posts by strip historian-experts. Gordon gheavern[at]yahoo[dot]com
A little history on the “link” between the Green Hornet and the Lone Ranger. Both of the radio shows were produced by the same Chicago Radio Station and they decided to connect the 2 shows by making the Green Hornet’s father (the founder of the newspaper GH owned) the Lone Ranger’s nephew. In the Lone Ranger show it was established that LR owned the silver mine where he got the silver for his silver bullets. The mine originally belonged to LR and his brother and after his brother (a Texas Ranger) was killed his son inherited his share of the mine. LR’s nephew made a few guest shots on his show before moving back to Chicago with his mother and once he grew up he used his share of the profits from the silver mine to start a hard hitting newspaper and when his son was old enough to take over the newspaper he got tired of printing stories about the criminals who were getting away with murder in his city and he became the Green Hornet to fight them for real. While fighting crime rumors started that GH was actually another criminal trying to horn in on the established criminals so the police were trying just as hard to find and stop him as they were the criminals he was fighting.
This story line will probably run to the end of May. Might have new villains at that time for Tracy and company to contend with as opposed to the recycled ones.

I always thought the Green Hornet was a bit more subtle. I am puzzled that Britt Reid would advertise his presence like that… GH ’s presence, that is.

How soon before Wichel is all over Tracy’s case trying to find out when he’s gonna toss the GREEN HORNET in the slammer?

Lenore Case needs to be careful. The last person named “Lenore” in this strip was arrested two days ago.
