Unfortunately, you’re correct. I lament the huge number of brain-dead in (but not limited to) our land. I suppose they need entertainment too. One need only look at children’s cartoon shows to really experience “Badly Drawn and Senseless”. “Sponge Bob” is the rare exception for it is well drawn and funny. Even if it can be accused of being dumb at times, at least it’s funny-dumb.
Alas, the effect spills over beyond the scope of comics into many other areas of our lives, such as politics.
Fortunately, we have “Skin Horse” and others to give us cause to smile and forget the brain-dead. At least for a moment or two.
