I dunno I think she still looks kind of cute, even though she looks like she’s in drag. Plus I think she gave an accurate description of the spectators in that staduim.
How many years prior to the present story is this supposed to be taking place? I would think it would take several years for Sedine’s hair to grow as long as it is (assuming the super-short ‘do in this isn’t artistic license by Sam’s memory).
I’m wondering if this whole encounter was a setup by Roy to hook up his pal and his cousin. It’s such a remote coincidence that they would be in the same part of a huge stadium. Then again, I suppose Sedine and Roy are probably vehement enemies at this point (suave disco cowboy vs. punk hothead), so maybe not…
I should never have viewed this strip after reading about zombie raccoons. Nor would I ever have guessed Sedine was once a methamphetamine addict.
Personal note: Long, long ago when blind people considered me good-looking I attracted a girl like this. Her name was Aurora, I called her Remora, and everyone knew she was antsy…
The story structure reminds me of – and I can’t quite recall exactly where I’d seen it done – a sequence from an anime where they were cutting back and forth very rapidly between multiple alternate realities.
[ It’s really bothering me that I can’t remember exactly where that sequence hails from. Possibly one of the ”Project A-Ko” sequels …?]
A similar setpiece takes place towards the end of ”Urusei Tatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer,” though in that instance the character is moving between “Dream Realms” rather than multiversal quantum realities.
There’s also a recent episode of Steven Universe, titled “Pool Hopping,” where the concept of isolated, unlikely potential side-by-side realities is explored.
The most “audience accessible” examples of moving between parallel realities might be the ”Star Trek: The Next Generation” Episode ”Parallels” …
By the way, GoComics came up with another annoyance. Instead of going straight to the comic, the link now goes to some other page and you have to click again to go to the comic. Everybody’s, far as I can tell, not just this.

Are the “Random Fans” flanking ‘The ‘Stache’ of cultural significance?

I have a feeling Sam’s story is the more accurate… slightly more accurate.

“H-material”? I’m guessing the “H” is for “husband”…? …or… something else which boggles the imagination (knowing how weird Sedine can get)…? o_O

“Her breath began to speak
As she stood right in front of me
The color of her eyes
were the color of insanity
Crushed beneath her wave
Like a ship
I could not reach her shore
We’re all just dancers
on the Devil’s Dance Floor"

Stud-Bisquik instead of stud-muffin in and of itself is creepy.
Sam knowing that Sedine misspelled Bisquick as Bisquik purely for copyright reasons is even creepier.
Sedine is wearing a man’s shirt. (Buttons on the left.) There is an untold story, perhaps best left untold, of how she got that shirt.

Clo-chi suddenly makes more sense – the initial flashback of her making it, seems rather polished now though.

Still waiting for an… accurate… account of the first encounter.

Love panel 1, Bea. I can’t imagine a more perfect “star struck” look.

Is that her “inner soul” crazy monkey statue face swirling in the background of panel 1?

Good Gravy!!! I thought that was a boy. She really does have her father’s ears.
Maybe Sam thinks she’s a boy, too…

… The “Alternate 1985” depicted in ”Back To The Future, Part II,” (… which even includes a blackboard lecture on how the Multiverse works!) ✨
… and the Jon Pertwee “Third Doctor” serial, ”Inferno.”

Fiction is littered with additional examples, of course, but I’m running out of space. ✨
