You are allowed to be sweet on Christmas and Mother’s Day.

More importantly, why does The Times have so much power?

I bet even musicians feel the same way when having a one-hit wonder and the rest of their music are flops.

By the way, on a somber note, I ought to tell Pig and Goat, that my mom bought the farm last year. :-(

The main problem is doing your best thing first, then by comparison everything else is meh. Like M. Night Shamylan and the Sixth Sense.

I know, Rat! It’s unbelievable, isn’t it?! Sweetness, in PBS?! Without a sudden dark turn?

    Happy Mother’s Day!

Well, Rat DID undermine the sweetness somewhat at the end, so he’s still the best. Worship the Rat!

My Mom coiled off this mortal shuffle a little over four years ago. My earliest distinct memory of her involved her shooting a swimming water moccasin with an M-1 rifle at a range about 120 feet, and the snake came down in three pieces. It was she, and not my Dad, who taught me to drive a stick shift. She worked fifty-plus hours a week to put me through military boarding school because the public schools in our city were so crummy. She was stubborn and opinionated in a “My way or the highway” sort of way. She was also the only person in history to break a leg bidding a bridge game (we were at my seven diamonds, redoubled). Even in the hospice with Alzheimer’s and in agony with Fibromyalgia, her last clear words were “I’m not ready to give up yet.” She loved her family and her Norwegian Elkhounds, and she would rather go fishing than eat when she was hungry, and through it all she remained a proper and polite southern grand dame. It was my honor to scatter her ashes in her favorite fishing hole. She is meandering toward Pascagoula and the Gulf. Thanks, Mom, for more encouragement and love and memories than I will ever be able to relate if I live to a hundred!

Hey guys, listen.. My real name’s not Ned Dickens, it’s Andi Miranti. Ned Dickens is the name of my character in a cartoon novel series I’m working on, “The Adventures of Blue-Smashin’ Ned Dickens”. The full version of my first Ned Dickens novel came out 2 years ago, and even though it’s not exactly a classic, it has been locally popular. My mom is really supportive, helping me write and sell my Ned Dickens book. Happy one week after Mother’s Day! I’m currently working on my second Ned Dickens novel, and its full version will be published probably in early 2019. Hopefully it won’t be a disappointment…
