My son was about 6 years old and kept getting finger paint all over the floor (easy to clean but just a pain) and I told him to “go watch tv” then realized what a mistake that was right after the words were out of my mouth. Luckily, he didn’t bother to listen to me so I sat there and happily watched him paint. (Yes, we tried putting paper down over the floor but he always managed to get paint under it – No biggie, the stuff washed right off with no staining)
Don’t know if they still make those “coloring” books where a child would dip a paint brush in a glass (or cup) of water and, when applied, it would bring out colors on the page.

Norman doing a crossword puzzle? I can picture him coloring with his sister easier than seeing him sitting down with even a beginners crossword.
