Study something that is on most people’s too hard to do list. Endure the catcalls about nerds and “man ( or woman) splaining” from folks pursuing “fun” vocations. Live well for the rest of your life…
The lass has right idea. There will always be a market for those who can because those who could but won’t will always take the easy way. And yet the second group take the attitude that they are somehow superior to the first group. That society encourages this faulty viewpoint is evident in the increasing numbers of school systems that have dropped what used to be called industrial arts or shop courses for Standards of Learning and Computer Training.
In the 1950’s, the high school courses that provided me with the most useful tools of any job were those of English grammar and mechanics, basic math to simple plane geometry, music and art, and shop courses in typesetting & publishing, metal work, carpentry, and design. A college curriculum helped to broaden my perspective, but those early skills have often been the difference between maintaining the health of my family and condition of my home and autos and having to pay someone else to handle problems.
Wait – you mean less fortunate people can make money by working for people who have it? I thought the rich should be taxed until it hurts and are the root of all evil in America?!
In actuality 85%of all living millionaires in America today are first generation. In other words they did the smart stuff and chose not to go into debt, paying other people their hard-earned in interest rather than earning interest for themselves.

Hasn’t heard yet of zero hours contracts and sub-level wages because that’s what the rich can do.

Contrary to popular belief, the poor work harder than the rich. That’s why “working class” doesn’t mean “the rich.”
Almost the whole point of having lots of money is that it means you don’t have to work hard.

There are 3 ways to get something done:
(1) Do it yourself.
(2) Hire someone to do it.
(3) Forbid your children to do it.

We obviously need to protect those people who got money from their parents by giving them tax breaks as, you know, an incentive.
