Bruce Lee did a similar thing in his second film “The Chinese Connection” where the master of his dojo is murdered and he becomes a murdering vigilante tracking those involved including donning disguises to infiltrate the suspected places including the arrogant Japanese.
I am thinking Kato is Topper’s man Friday, and all the rest of the days of the week. Now that Topper has been confronted I wonder if he’ll look at his aide in a different light. If only Kato was master of disguise enough not to look Oriental as anyone who is well acquainted with G.H. would be familiar with his appearance.
I see where the artist have made Kato appear to look SOMEWHAT like Bruce Lee (must avoid those extra royalties.) Anyway, I thought it was said at the beginning of this plot line that Kato had been captured by the police back in the Hornet’s hometown?
Just one color error, the Hornet uses green polarize lighting so the lights should be green in color. His car and the masks have lenses that render it visible to them.
Kato apparently is working undercover as a valet to Topper. As for how long his disguise will hold up, I’d say his face in panel 3 has a mask-like quality, a cereous expression (one might say). I am put in mind of Vincent Price and House of Wax. Let us hope his disguise doesn’t melt away when the heat is on!
Wouldn’t the Topper business have ended tonite if the Green Hornet had allowed Tracy to arrest Topper for extorting the computer guy? I always thought the Hornet’s biggest problem was overthinking the fight on crime.
NEIL WICK ABOUT 6 HOURS AGOI don’t think this is going to be a long story because a summer story is coming up, but we will have to see whether it’s “rushed.”
I have to say that I’m a little amazed that you’re bored because the story is moving too slow but complaining about it being rushed at the same time.
“Marsha Marsha Marsha!” I know I’ve explained what my gripe is to you before. Let me try it this way;
If each story the boys pumped out was like a 60 minute play then to me it feels like acts 1 and 2 are 29 minutes each and act 3 is 2 minutes. I’m not saying it isn’t an enjoyable play, just that the ending always feels rushed. In my opinion the stories would benefit from a more balanced unfolding.

Good morning™, disguised ones!
So, it appears that Kato is actually working undercover! With the beard and mustache, no-one would ever recognize him.

I see a rushed ending coming
I see disaster on the way
I see yawning and snoring
I see boring times today
Don’t expect too much
It’s like a sucker punch
There’s a rushed ending coming

In Hong Kong the Green Hornet is “The Bruce Lee Show” and G.H. is just his annoying sidekick.
