LOL! My husband does the same thing. Announces taking out the garbage or any little thing he does like he wants applause. But of course he does not applaud me for making dinner, washing dishes, doing the laundry, sweeping the floor…….

Showing appreciation is an investment in a happy, loving relationship. It only takes a little bit every day and soon you’ll be rich beyond compare.

Amen!

2 adults shouldn’t have a dishwasher load everyday.

I don’t do much around the house anymore. My wife finds fault in everything I do. So, I focus on my job, where I’m appreciated. TMI, I know.

2 Adults don’t need a Dish Washer; Also, when a slothful spouse does an actual chore, put a sticky Gold Star on their Forehead!

Every man has a strong 10 year-old boy in him that still seeks approval from mama. Until his wife realizes that and learns to apply it, she is missing a powerful inducement (i.e., carrot). The man/boy assumes a division of labor. Daddy went to work, momma stayed at home. When he helped mama do her perceived jobs at home she praised him. He still figures it should work that way. Not all homes worked that way as a child, but most did.

It’s the way of the world.

The Late and Unlamented sat up ONE night in the recliner, holding the younger child against his chest because she had a cold. Even the girls got tired of hearing him talk about it. That was the sum and total of his help around the house. Ever.

My husband would do the dishes MAYBE twice a year and whenever he did, I thanked him profusely. One day I came home from work and found the dishes done but I didn’t say anything to him. Several hours later he couldn’t take it anymore and asked, “Well…. aren’t you going to thank me for doing the dishes?” I said, “Why? I do the dishes every day and you’ve never once thanked me.”

I do 95% of the household chores, like running an extra load of laundry when my wife’s daughter visits and uses five towels and two washcloths taking one bath! Took her three hours.

No automatic dishwasher in my house, but Husband clears the drain rack every morning while I am cooking his breakfast.

My husband would not know where anything goes except the flatware. We’ve lived in the same house over 20 years.

We share the chore…I’m short so I get the bottom and my hubby does the top.

I am allowed to empty but not to load the dishwasher!

If my wife unloaded the dishwasher, it means she unloaded me. Every morning I make our tea, cook our breakfast, we do the dishes together, I wash she dries.
