This year’s Boston Marathon; Temperatures in the mid-thirties. Steady rain. Most of the race run into a 20 MPH headwind. Yeah. That sounds like fun.

My friends did the “Couch to 5k” — you have to start somewhere.

Our local athletic shoe store has all kinds of running programs – from Couch to 5K is one, training for a marathon is another and everything in between. There are morning runner groups, mid-day runner groups, afternoon runner groups and evening runner groups. I am thinking of joining the Couch to 5K group (need to verify with all kinds of doctors that I can – I am an overweight (but losing) 61 yr old who is diabetic and hasn’t run in 50+ years). The only way I would even try to run is to join a group so I have some support.

Gotta hand it to her though. At least she didn’t do all of her research online. Looks like she’s going the old fashioned route and collecting info via books…and not even Kindle books at that!
