Because Edith normally wears glasses. Her pool goggles probably have prescription lenses to replace her regular glasses.

I like the somewhat-modified quote from act 2, scene ll of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, who formed English into the language we all know and love. We are still quoting him centuries after his death, and our descendants will be quoting him for more centuries.
