Beef fat is the secret of the success of McDonald’s fries. One can deep fry potatoes at home with a mix of beef fat and more conventional canola oil, say around 10 percent beef fat. The flavor you get will be good enough to effectively spoil fast food fries as weak imitations of beefy fries.
Let’s face it – fries aren’t healthy no matter which oil they are fried in – especially when dipped in copious amounts of American Sauce so they have the proper bloody look!
Ya’ wanna go all haute cuisine – fry them bad boys up in some duck fat. Now there’s some good eatin’s!
But potatoes fried in bacon fat is a pretty good substitute!

I’m with Sadie on this one- I just picked up a copy of “The Big Fat Surprise- Why Butter, Meat & Cheese Belong In A Healthy Diet.”
Besides….good health only delays the inevitable.

A while back, I bought some lard and cooked up some french fries for my kids, so they could experience what real fries used to taste like.

Moderation in all things. Including moderation itself.
You are only given a certain number of heartbeats. When you run out, you die. Don’t waste them on exercise. 8^)
