That “mom/mother” stereotype was commonly considered funny a few decades ago, but I don’t think it passes muster today. I personally think it’s an insult to all the dedicated moms who do so much more than nag and pick insignificant nits.
FWIW, “Quiet!” is the only one of those phrases my own mother ever uttered, and even that was rare and only when several of us kids were shouting at once. (I.e., it was used only to reduce noise, never to stop us from expressing a point of view.)
