Charades would be much easier with American Sign Language.

Surely the hospital has an ethicist that Marcie could talk to?

Doesn’t Mrs. Worthington have an advocate or a lawyer Marcy could talk to? I would think that if the patient is changing her will to leave everything to Marcy, they would be in touch and Marcy would have to be involved in the process. She could express her misgivings there and talk about contacting Dana.

The lady is only asking her to talk to her daugther. This is not a medical issue, just a personal request. She should be able to tell her husband directly without any charades..

Time to roll out the old fun guy/fungi puns. Joe isn’t a fun guy, but he grows on you. (Or maybe not).

My doctor girlfriend and me (also medical) kinda just stare at each other when we ask how work was. Can’t really tell any patient stories without thinking it through to deidentify it enough.

When you’re married you’re always playing crazy guessing games trying to figure out what’s making her cranky now.

I posted on another comment. I got to a doctor whose wife is also a doctor and both work at different medical facilities. Once they both worked same building reason the one my doctor worked at flooded when pipes broke. The only time they ate lunch together. Off clock, they have family time with their sons.

    Consult. That way you’re covered.

Or just let them die with needs unmet because you interpret the law to force you to.
