Working Daze was pretty funny in 1955.

The funny thing was that computers haven’t changed much except that he doesn’t have as much room on his desk for his feet. That’s why I don’t worry about AI. (that and the fact I just retired)

In 1955 it was believed that there would be five or six computers total. Only a few major corporations would need or be able to afford them.

Ah, the “Mort Walker” period, a la’ Beetle Bailey and Hi & Lois. I love these “retrospectives” … great cartoon art!

Reading your notice has reminded me of a certain Batman TV movie starring the late great Adam West. I especially remembered how that movie ended.

But, I’m sure everything will be fine. After all, everyone there speaks English, right…?

Since most of us don’t remember the strip from back then, we have to guess who the characters are. – My guess is Ed Kennedy, Jay Johnstone, Sue(?), CJ and Roy Hobbs.

My favorite line about computers dates at least from the 1970s and goes something like “The attention span of a computer is only as long as its electrical plug”? I guess you’d have to include batteries now.
