it is awfully comvenient that their calculations didn’t add up until they announced there was a mysterious, invisible, undetectable mass that made up the difference.
There is no dark matter. There is only energy. Matter is an expression of energy. There is so much dark energy that it is able to compress the tiny range of energies that make up our sub-verse into stable quantum packets. There are no attractive forces in nature. The energy within an atom is balanced from without, not pulled from within. Everything we see is based on harmonics and disparate energy levels.
Just because a digital display may read out past some number of digits, we must NOT rely on it in assuming more accuracy than warranted by our measuring devices. And we must be careful lest we extrapolate a few specific measurements to other areas or populations with perhaps very different situations. That applies in every field of study.
Dates per Wiki – OWJ first appeared in ‘83. Rosebud the basselope first appeared in BC sometime later. The Last Basselope was published in ’92 while Outland was published on Sundays.Dark matter, BTW, is about how the motion of objects on a galactic scale don’t conform to Newtonian physics, not the “fancy stuff” contributed by Planck, Einstein, Heisenberg et al.
Can’t remember how it goes exactly so I’ll paraphrase: Philosophy is like looking for a black cat in a dark room. Theology is like looking, in a dark room, for a black cat—that isn’t there!
We now live in a world saturated with science and its handmaiden technology. Science is intrinsically skeptical. It is built on observable facts, objective, mathematical logic and compelling proof alone; science has no use for “faith.” This necessarily works a hardship on all faith-based religions and “understandings,” but especially Christianity. It’s like this:
• Adam & Eve = “original sin”
• Science & evolution = no Adam & Eve
• No Adam & Eve = no “original sin”
• No “original sin” = no need for Jesus & his “atonement”
• No Jesus, no atonement = no Christianity, no “forgiveness”
• Q.E.D.
“Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but—more frequently than not—struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God.” ~ Martin Luther, Table Talks in 1569.
“Me an’ my knick-knack collection were spared when that tornada come through last night, ‘cuz I have faith protectin’ me!”
“‘Course that family of six down the way that usta sing in tha choir for the church ah _don’t_ go to got kilt somethin’ terrible, but they din’t have the right kinda faith!”
Astronomers used dark matter to explain the speed rotation of distant galaxies, then used dark energy to explain the accelerated expansion of the universe. But dark matter and dark energy are the same thing, In other words, dark energy is equal to dark mass times the speed of light squared.

There is a difference between basing something on mathematical calculations and basing it on “because I want it to be real.”

But there most certainly are basselopes.

At least we still have dinosaurs among us. Look up at the birds flying, the crocodilians, the turtles.

Biggest difference? Oliver Wendell Jones (and his supporters) do not acknowledge their own religion. Opus-oids do.
It’s a Leap of Faith, either way.
