Monday, I said I was glad to be wrong, that Scott was going to examine Winslow ’s family.
Today, I wish I was wrong. This is the same kind of mud-slinging I’d expect to hear from Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and many, many others.
What I liked about this strip, when I started reading it many, many decades ago, was that while it was slanted to the right (no wrong in that), nevertheless, it did not ridicule Winslow, the liberal.
So much so that, while Carmen would win most of their arguments (more like discussions), there were times that Scott would let Winslow have his day.
What we’re seeing this week seems beneath the Scott Stantis I once knew.
But they wouldn’t call her that, since she’s a conservative who hates Trump. I’ve been “strange bedfellows” with a whole lot of conservatives since the Orange Trash started squatting the White House.
As for his supporters – sorry, but it IS reasonable to think that following a racist means that you are also one. Or at least that you don’t much mind racism.
Many so-called “Conservatives” pretend that Liberals should tolerate a “conservative’s” intolerance.
They then call liberals “haters” for refusing to tolerate their attempts to take away the rights of others.
No. We should not tolerate the racists attempting to take away the rights of another person’s color that have aligned with the Cons / GOP’ers.
No. We should not tolerate the misogynists attempting to take women’s rights that have aligned with the Cons / GOP’ers.
No. We should not tolerate the homophobes attempting to take away the rights of another person of who loves someone they don’t approve of, that have aligned with the Cons / GOP’ers.
No. We should not tolerate the Neo-Nazis that have aligned with the Cons / GOP’ers.
Very well said, Silly Season. The regressives earned that title from…wait for it…regressive behavior!!!
Any “conservative” who wishes to do so can try to explain the birther crap and trump’s pro-Nazis comments before they lecture me on why they aren’t racists and proto-fascists.
Quite honestly, I think this cartoon makes a valid statement; all Conservatism has been tarred from the Trump brush (and I don’t mean his hair). Let us remember that civil discourse, if that has not become extinct in today’s society, requires civility. I had believed, sincerely, that I may disagree with the politics of another without questioning either their love of country, or their basic goodness. In my own experience, it was the Right who liked to brand even moderates with charges of disloyalty, of subversion, and even of criminal intent simply for disagreeing with policy. However, the political climate of today is so toxic, so inflexible, so unwilling to even consider an opposing point of view without a fair hearing or objective examination of the facts that I’m beginning to see little difference in the two. Because we, as Americans, can no longer “agree to disagree” yet still work together for the common good as “We the People,” I fear the very worst for our Republic.

They called the non-white girl a racist. How has anyone missed that? Liberals just can’t stand to be criticized.

Quite a judgement from a right-winger.

Read the comments in all the strips, people. There are easily ten insults from liberals for every one from a conservative.
