My in-laws were with my kids this past June for 2 1/2 weeks, and it didn’t work out for the opposite reason. I try to raise my kids to be independent and responsible, but my mother-in-law treats them like babies and hovers over them too much. It drives my kids nuts, and they weren’t too happy.
I agree with some of you. Some young people spoil their kids with lots of stuff. What the kids could use more is the time the grandparents can spend with them- especially if they get to visit often enough to really make a difference.

Don’t bet on it! Remember, they were parents before they were grandparents.

@Redhead55, true, but most Grands usually get back at the children by spoinling the g-kids.

But oh what fun that spoiling is, on both sides!
Hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday season. Happy New Year to all.

And you get to be the only one in the house who knows where all the stuff is.

I think that would be my in-laws too. I love them, but she is a bit of a worry-wart and a hoverer.

Hoveering to be sure they aren’t doing what they’re not supposed to be doing, and not breaking any antiques.
