I do think that country music gets a bad rap. Of course, RAP gets a bad rap.
Anyway, people who don’t listen to country music think it’s all “redneck drama”…but Elton John thought enough of country artists to ask them to cover some of his songs on his latest album release, “Restoration”.
I remember many years ago a musician / entertainer (I can’t remember who. The old gray matter ain’t what it once was.) was asked to classify his music. To which the musician / entertainer replied – “To classify music is futile. Music is music. Matters not if the music is from Beethoven or Hank Williams. Music is music.”
I love “county” music. In general, each song tells a story from beginning to the end. The one that I always use as an example is Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors”. She paints a family saga in a few verses… That’s talent. If that song doesn’t make one cry at the end, even if one just reads the lyrics, then one must have a heart of stone. There are many, many songs like that. Every one tells a whole story.
At least.. for the most part you can understand the words in country music.. not so much with rap and heavy metal is just noise..ear drum busting noise

What happens when you play a country song backward? (Back in the days of vinyl.)

She forgot the pick up truck, it ain’t country if it ain’t got a pickup truck. (or at least a tailgate to sit on)

Shall I launch into my usual diatribe regarding music genres? That each genre has good music and bad music. NAH!

I’m allergic to country music. Makes me violent. Metal is much more soothing…

The only entity in the comics I read that annoys me more than Katy are the crocs in PBS.
