On a trip to Cape Cod we wound up downwind from the Colonial Candle factory. It was not an olfactory treat. I can not imagine what it would be like to live there.
Candles can be dangerous, especially if you light a lot of them. My grandma-in-law almost burned her kitchen down during a power outage because she had a candle way too close to the bottom of a cabinet. My husband saw flames and ran in there to put them out. Because of that, I bought a set of 4 LED camping lanterns for power outages. Since we live in FL (hurricane season is most of the year), they’ve served us well on a few occasions!

I’ve always liked Hagar the Horrible’s answer: “But I like cursing the darkness.”
