As a matter of fact, the fellow who used to repair our sewing machine told us they stopped making decent sewing machines in 1965. My trusty old Kenmore is still churning out clothing, and Eldest Daughter has gone through two plastic/electronic Singers.
Have somebody who knows what they’re doing give that baby a tune-up and you’re in business.
For a time in the 1960’s I found that we had a foot pumped sewing machine with lots of elaborate looking iron work and I wonder (now) if it was from the 1920’s. Only I didn’t care then when I was 6 just that I liked the look of it.
