sarge112751: keep on dreaming. What’s the first thing the tea party candidates did when they took office? Why, went out to lunch with the same old lobbyists and signed on for more of the same old borrow-and-spend that’s marked our government since the days of Raygun.
The people who voted for the tea party candidates who promised to cut spending and shrink government are going to be about as disappointed in 2012 as the people who voted for Obama in ‘08 because they mistook him for a Democrat. It’s all one party these days, the party of K Street.
This is not proof of a miracle but proof that the unions bought the elections in New York & California again with bogus returns, tampered computers and outright fraud.
Puddleglum, I usually agree with you but the new freshmen in congress don’t take office until January. There is still hope - unless you live in California. I GOTTA move…
treBsdrawkcaB: good point re the actual voting, but the news has been reporting that the incoming freshmen are not waiting till they’re sworn in to start cozying up to lobbyists. The more things “change” the more they stay the same.
Only one-third of the Senate is up for election/reelection every two years, unlike the House, which has two-year terms. It requires 6 years and 3 elections to recycle the Senate, and by that time, the first third has been there too long, and needs to be replaced. So depending on who is the leading party at that time, they win. The Senate will NEVER be homogenized like the House could conceivably be. That was the design by the Founding Fathers, so we don’t need to “take our country back” to achieve that. Unless there is success in having Senators appointed by State Governors again. “Forward! Forward to yesterday!!” Since the Founding Fathers didn’t provide for Social Security, income tax, the FAA, the FCC, the EPA, or even the FBI, they must not be necessary, as well as being unconstitutional.
truecanadianliberal, you need to do a little research and get your facts straight, especially regarding the Florida vote count in Bush vs Gore. Even liberal news outlets have conceded, after many thorough investigations, that Bush indeed did honestly and fairly win the Florida electoral votes.
A consortium of news outlets, Including that bastion of liberalism, the Chicago Tribune, actually did the recount. Despite the dirty tricks, such as purging voter roles of legitimately registered voters and intentional back up in black precincts, the consortium found that Gore would have won in a statewide recount, but would have lost if just the counties that he requested had been recounted. This recount project was finished a week or so after 9/11 and no one wanted to throw our country into a constitutional quandry when we had just been attacked. The Bush people did nothing honest nor fair. Furthermore, , Bush’s election illegitimacy was mirrored by his lack of competency during his entire presidency.

The true miracle would be if they were all voted out and we could start fresh.

That’s just proof that there is a Devil. A miracle would be that he drives off the Chappaquiddick bridge and only kills himself.

Not a “miracle”, just SOP resulting from a brain-dead electorate.
