jml58: Thank you. It is something I told my son when he lost his Grandmas. As long as you talk about them they will never really die. We talk about how wonderful they both were very often. We also talk about how ornery they both could be. Like I said, it keeps them alive to all of us.
Dixiedamsel: I think last year’s was very sweet but I think this year Lio probably wanted to “do things up”. His mom was probably the one who “did” Christmas at home and he wanted to return the favor.
I Love Lio and I love this strip. He is a good person at heart, even to his monsters.
dad - “I just found some solar powered xmas lights at Lowes!!”
me - “What on earth do you need those for?”
dad - “You don’t need to know. It’s just something I want.”
me - ::thinking, thinking:: “Oh! You’re gonna put a tree on Mom’s grave aren’t you?”
dad - “Well, I’d like to. Haven’t done it in a while.”
Saturday, talking to dad again…
dad - “Have you read today’s Lio yet?”
me - “Nope not yet! Why?”
dad - “Just make sure you’re of sound state of mind or alone when you do.”
me - “What could Lio possibly do now that would require me to be sane? It’s Lio…”
Wow. I had no idea Lio would make me cry. Lio should look into those solar powered lights. She would’ve been 51 yrs old on Christmas morning. :( There’s no sound state of mind when someone misses their mommy.

Please don’t shoot me, but it’s a little over commercialized. A Charlie Brown Christmas Tree would’ve said it all…Merry Christmas!!!

The good thing about dreams it that my parents often join me in them.

What did Lio do to his mom? They never say how she died.

This makes up for ALL the nasty stuff you’ve done during the year.
