I always heard “cool the spoon” in ice water.
Similar for poison ivy, etc. Put under as hot water as you can stand. The heat breaks down the histamines that cause the itch, or so it was explained to me. Anyway, heat really works.
For immediate relief, be sure to heat the spoon in a microwave for 30 seconds.
