War. Good for the tobacco companies (and soon to be weed companies.) Especially good for the “defense contractors” of the “military industrial complex” (a term coined by Republican Eisenhower, the last good Republican in the mold of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt), who PROFITEER off the deaths and suffering of the brave military heroes they sacrifice on the blood-stained altar of profits for “defense contractors” and oil companies.

Not so good for the brave heroes they sacrifice so eagerly.

PROgressives try to prevent the sacrifice, but support the heroes after they return.

CONservatives discard them as detritus after they have used them and have no more use for them.

    If you’re gonna die anyway-!

But how awkward it would be to survive the war and still have shot lungs!

Dope vendors love times of stress and the false promise they can fix it with a few puffs or swallows or injections.

For some reason I don’t think that’s the original punchline, but I could be wrong…

The Best two “investments” the Tobacco companies ever made were during WW2:

They donated Free Cigarettes to be placed in every Meal Pack sent out to combat soldiers and practically Buried the returning wounded in Free Cigarettes.
