“15-day leave?” Military personnel also have to take leave on weekends, which only gives her 2 weeks off, not 3. Not a whole lot of time with travel involved.

reminds me of Claude Lelouche’s “And Now My Love”……about how many generations it takes to create the “love at first sight” moment. His protagonists criss-cross several times in their lives before the inevitability of their meeting. On an airplane.

Huh? The freedom bird goes from Kabul to KC? Isn’t that a long-way (pork for contractors) route?

Oh no, this can’t be good. I’d really hate to see these two pushed together. I’m thinking that if they do have any contact, Melissa may just end up beating the snot out of him. Might even change Jeff for the better. Is that even possible?

These two can’t possibly happen, which makes it inevitable.

Isn’t Jeff the one who shot down Melissa’s helicopter or something? Or she had to repair it on a steep slope, under enemy fire, or something?

    plus4, it was a setup???

Potrzebie,, More than likely that is where she will spend her leave, relaxing, taking hot baths and eating some good food before enjoying some entertainment sans alcohol.

fbjsr – WHAT? Your comment is so funny! I want to be mad at you, but it’s so idiotic I can’t be.

summerdog – one can dream. But I don’t see GT allowing any character to be the snot out of any other character. But clearly we are all rooting FOR Melissa – I wish there were a way for her to be involved with Joanie that didn’t involve Jeff. Maybe I mean the old Joanie – the one we’ve got now isn’t so interesting. Actually, Melissa has character Joanie never did.

If she really wants alcohol in the Gulf it’s a short hop to Bahrain or the UAE.

“The American military produces half the carbon emissions in the world and is unregulated.”

And provides and protects the freedom to make silly statements like that.

15 days of leave not enough? Maybe for women it’s different, but for me it wasn’t. 2 days to get home from overseas (anywhere I was stationed, at least). I’d allow 3 days to get back, so I could chill out, which leaves 10 freaking days to go insane. As far as I’m concerned that’s WAY too much free time on my hands. I know. I did it. Once. Never again. When I finally exited the Military, I sold back over 60 days of unused leave, and I still had plenty of days off.

Melissa & Jeff keep passing by each other. The first couple of times, I thought maybe they had history, but I couldn’t find out about that. Now I just don’t expect it to go anywhere.

Radish haven’t you heard the Navy’s going Green. The newest amphibious Assault Ship, USS Makin Island has “a new gas turbine propulsion plant, with all electric auxiliaries, is a program first for large deck amphibious assault ships and will provide significant savings in manpower and maintenance costs associated with traditional steam-powered amphibious ships”

NPR did a story last week about how Marine FOBs are using renewable sources of energy because it’s too much of a hassle protecting the resupply convoys. Fuel supply is a big drain on logistics. Green is a strategic consideration beyond cammo.

@Radish, that’s why Republicans deny climate change.
