As long as we’re going to replay summer, could I pick a different one? Of course Jeffery, you won’t have been born yet, but once the machine is going, we don’t really need you.

Jefferey must be a true engineer. He’s still tinkering with his machine. An engineer is a person who develops the perfect device and immediately sets upon improving it.

Maybe he should send her 30 years into the future where she can meet her adult self. They could scare the heck out of each other.

Is it me or does Jeffery’s time machine look like an early Tardis (Time and Dimension in Space) prototype ?

Since time travel into the past would not replace your earlier self with your visiting self, there would be two of you in the same time period, and if you encounter each other, there may or may not be a physical catastrophe (depending on which story you are reading at the time). But, even lacking explosions, etc., there would still be multiple Danaes and Jefferys (the originals plus one for every loop).Jeffery seems like he might be able to reason and cooperate with his other versions.The Danaes, however – will either immediately enter “Highlander” mode, or band together to take over the world, and then fight to the death among themselves for the throne.

One person’s “Endless Summer” is another person’s Endless Hell.
