If command does not know what is going on it its own bureaucracy, then it is possible that someone is inside the government manipulating the records. Watch your back, fluffytail.
You mean to tell me that in a relatively small, self contained community such as Endtown that everybody doesn’t know who everybody else is sleeping with? What sort of people are these anyway? This strip just lost any remaining shreds of believability. ;-)
Introducing the old 1920’s B&W serial movie cliffhangers, with Snidely Whiplash tying sweet, sweet Nell down in front of the buzzsaw. Will our hero reach the wheelhouse in time? Or is this episode one of the dark ones?
Everyone thinks Walt will come down like a ton of bricks on Jake and Velda, but how would he know they’ve set this situation up? Walt doesn’t know who “they” are (the pig killers) either. So, unless Portia has given him chapter and verse in the note she left for him, he won’t have any idea where to go either.
I too am wondering where he’s going. Did Portia leave enough details in her note to give him enough clues? Either way, in his current frame of mind I hope he doesn’t meet anyone else between Point A and Point B.
Walt has seemed like a reasonable, sometimes cowardly, person. He carries a lot of guilt for what he did in Pepcola park—even though it was in self-defense. Even drunk, he’s not likely to become blindly destructive. But if he has a target in mind…. The door was just in his way. Does Walt have a target? What does he know? Is it related to whatever finally pushed him to drink?

What we have here is a total intelligence failure. The ball of doom has started to roll downhill, and Jake is playing the part of Sisyphus.

Looks like someone is in for some drunk justice via bear fist… I mean, that was just an innocent door and you see what he did to that!

An angry bear walks the streets
glowering with rage at all he meets.
Get out of sight, out of his way,
lest for his sullen rage you pay.

A bear has an amazing sense of smell. He’ll find her. Just follow that smell of bacon.

Him eating them would come under the heading of karma.

They HAVE run out of time because the angry, drunk quarter ton bear man is on the move. Now, as for the music, Future World Music’s Raising the Dead…

Is it a bear? Is it a tank? Nope, it’s the ex-mayor and he’s black-out drunk. Run…

She hasn’t been on the dole for her lifestyle, she is on public benefits for the unemployed since she lost her job at the newspaper.

Perhaps Walt will be the backup plan that neither Velda nor Jake had intended. Now to see whether Portia survives this mess or not.
