For some kids, sunrise is when a voice says, ‘Get moving or you’ll miss your bus.’ Of course, in some latitudes it’s still dark even then.

The most beautiful time of the day. Usually nice and cool even in the heat of the summer.

I remember growing up in Houston, where sunsets in the summer are about 8:30-9 o’clock. When you’re little, your bedtime is 7-8 o’clock. It’s hard to go bed for the night when the sun is still up.

As a teen, I was very proud of the fact that the only time I saw a sunrise was when I stayed up all night. Been a night owl all my life, and now that I’m retired, I can once again state that the only time I see a sunrise is if I stay up all night (it happens)!

As a fun aside, some kids may get up earlier than their parents; but because they are not in school, this ‘bad habit’ is probably not encouraged.
