Where they say it:New Brunswick, and elsewhere in the Maritimes.
Unless this website is wrong (feel free to correct Canadian posters), my guess is this means that in spite of growing up in the Toronto area, Gordon’s family must come from the Maritimes.
Nah— mirrored shades only allow for guys to peek at girls. Peeking at girls is what got Gordon into trouble to begin with. As if it’s gonna conceal his identity— it won’t and he’ll look like a goober.
When you to get to be a junior or senior in high school , you will be able to know when “She” just walks into a room..You wont even have to look or see her…Or was that only me, so afflicted?…
What bothers me is that this continues to claim that how girls look makes boys unable to control themselves. No one ever creates a dress code for boys so that they don’t excite girls. It takes me back to what were were taught about sex back in the 1950s: All boys want it; good girls don’t.

And there’s Gordon’s hat that he will wear all the way to the end of high school. Welcome to the comic strip, “redneck hat.”
As for the “scribbler,” that is not a term I know. I looked it up at this website:

SCRIBBLER
What it means: Notebook
Where they say it:New Brunswick, and elsewhere in the Maritimes.

Lynn’s Notes:
I once bit the coil off my scribbler. It was exhilarating…but hard on the teeth.

Sure, Gordon. Walk around dressed like a “redneck.” That will impress Allyson for sure.

I’ve never heard the term ‘scribbler’ for a notebook before. Is that a Canadian thing or an East Coast thing?
