Tracy’s pleasant chit chat with Mr. Hall seems incongruous given that he is a suspect in Eugene’s “murder” – is DT in on the game and has to figure out who is the “murderer”?
Hello. Does anyone have the contact information for the moderator on the DT Facebook page? There’s been a flurry of recent posts by one member (I won’t ID him by name, but let’s say if he was a DT character his monicker would probably be Pop Quiz) & the guy is DOMINATING the page. Got so bad I left the group after being on it for many years. Just seeing if anyone here can reach out, put the brakes on a bit? Thanks!
Hey Tracy, about your happy expression in the 2nd panel – maybe you’ve forgotten there’s a dead body (and of a friend for that matter) in the room!!! Or is he not dead, and Tracy realizes it?
Tracy has supposedly secured the crime scene. His left hand in pocket suggests he is ready for any foolish move on “Doubleup’s” part. The Rogue’s Gallery setting strikes me as a fun way to put a wide variety of villains in play for the Two-Minit Mystery. No canon will be harmed in the interlude. Ideally, a young fan might wish to know the story of Flattop or Brow. Securing the proper volume of IDW reprints is well advised.
How did Doubleup know something “happened”? “happened” Did he see or hear something suspicious? Did Roche try to contact him before he died? Why did it take him so long to check it out? Hopefully we’ll start getting some actual clues to this “mystery” pretty soon,
Wally Hall is a big, big man, man! But he is acting (ahem!) friendly enough towards Tracy. I am genuinely curious as to how many more villains/cosplayers we will meet before Tracy gets around to the real business of solving the murder (assuming there really was a murder). So far, we have Flattop, The Brow, and DoubleUp. We probably need a few more to make it interesting, but (as I’ve said before) we don’t have time to waste….
Well, all I can say is that Tracy and Wally are awfully chummy considering there’s a corpse slumped over in the same room—that is unless every room has shelves of books like a library.

Good morning™, cosplayers, cosplayers!
This one even has a real name. I’m sure the others do, too, but we haven’t heard theirs. We aren’t limited to really old, classic villains, either.

I’m hoping to see Flyface and 5th.

I notice the differences in their first appearances.
“Flattop”: Seemed shocked to see Dick Tracy. Maybe cause he’d just killed him?
“The Brow”: Apparently found the body.
“Doubleup”: Doesn’t seem to be aware that there’s been a murder, since he’s all cheerful and chatty, and mentions Eugene as if he’s alive.

So, this Minit Mystery doubles (pardon me) as a catch-up on the villain roll call for those new to the strip… clever.

Cosplaying current villains who are on the loose is extremely creepy. Cosplaying in this strip has jumped the shark.

wouldn’t surprise me to have the killer be, instead of one of these “cosplayers”……the real villain himself…..

Or the whole thing is supposed to be a murder party. And, as you all know, it’s all in fun until somebody dies.
