I had a good friend of mine that, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t convince him to go skydiving with me. He thought I was crazy for jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
When I was in college, a friend of mine went skydiving. I pondered the possibility for a while, and mentioned it to my mom. She said “If you do decide to go, DON’T tell me before! Tell me AFTER you’ve done it.” That helped me come to the decision I had really preferred all along – I didn’t do it! (Before that, my dad had told me never to consider skydiving because I was too “thin and gangly” and my legs were too long. I think he did that just to try to discourage me. That helped the decision, too!)

It is like the gambler song — you have to know when to fold them. Hopefully, he folded it before he jumped.

Of course if you don’t skydive, it’s just meaningless information.

But an interesting metaphor for making decisions about how long one is involved in something is long enough. Life changing and not always dire

If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you.

It’s not the diving that kills you, it’s the sudden stop at the bottom

Wouldn’t those first couple signs need larger Print since the Skydiver was so much further away?
