the problem was calvin didn’t use maneuverability, he just sat there.
Reminds me long ago. we had a cairn terrier (think toto) and she absolutely took apart a golden retriever in a fight. she was so small and springy she got inside the retriever’s turning arc and kept jumping up and biting the the right flank and right forward shoulder. the retriever kept trying to turn but the smaller dog kept in close and just kept it up until the bigger dog ran for it.
If anyone’s interested, here’s a great article from a couple years back about Moe and Calvin’s dynamic: https://kotaku.com/a-string-of-upsetting-calvin-hobbes-strips-told-a-bol-1777424191
Wow, what a hard first day back. First the principal’s office, now a bully. And we keep telling our children to “be themselves” in a world that wants to dictate their behavior.

Doesn’t a small bird need multiple other small birds to help mob a larger bird?

Sparrows spend less time talking and more time maneuvering.

Stick to watching cartoons Calvin – leave those nature programs alone.

Hummingbirds are masters at dodging other birds. Maybe if you swing your arms in a circle instead of up and down, you can avoid him.

Hey Moe, is that your hair or did a possum die on that thick skull of yours?

In ten years, did Moe ever get his comeuppance? No? A bitter taste of real life.

Not only stars but rockets and planets too, that’s some punch

How come no teacher ever sees moe’s egregious bullying? He should be expelled from the school.

Yeah, but you’re no sparrow, Calvin!

Ouch! Moe punched poor Calvin so hard he defied laws of physics and punched Calvin right out of his shoes!
LEOKEV about 6 years ago
At least we see that Moe knows his name. Probably the first time he didn’t call Calvin “Twinkie”.

A sparrow Calvin ain’t…

If he was smart enough to compensate the lack of size, he could win.

Maneuverability requires not sitting still on a swing, Calvin.

He’s talking about being agile like a sparrow while acting like a sitting duck.
