    I remember seeing something about the orbits of the planets being a slow spiral that decreases the distance between the Earth and the Sun by approximately 1/2 the diameter of the Earth, or approx. 3,600 miles, every 100,000 years.

    So, was the year longer, the days shorter, or a combination. In other words, did it take longer to go around the sun, and did the earth rotate on its axis faster? I mean, their statement by itself was pretty, well, meaningless.
